Name: Paul Joyce

Position: Head Coach

Bio: Coach Joyce is a Wilmington, DE native and the oldest son of Francis and Patricia Joyce. Today he is married to Leyla Phillip, formerly of Crofton, MD and the proud father of his seven year old son Cullen. Joyce is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he wrestled for coach Paul Billy. He is also a graduate of the Salesianum School, class of 1981, where he wrestled varsity for Coach John Rusnak.

Joyce certified as a Physical Education and Health teacher in 1986. He began his teaching career in his home town at John Dickinson HS where he became the head wrestling coach from 1986-1995. During his coaching career he amassed an overall record of 90 - 33. The JDHS Rams were also 4 time Flight B champs and Joyce was the freshman football coach.

Joyce has since taught at Southern Middle School (1995 - 96) and Arundel Middle School (1996 - 99). Since 1999 Joyce has been a Physical Education and Health Teacher for Severna Park HS. At SPHS Joyce has not only been a wrestling coach but also a Head JV Football Coach from 2000 - 2002 and the Asst Coach in 1999.

Name: Herm Shreve

Position: Varsity Coach

Bio: This is Herm's third year with the team.

Name: Dave Rupert

Position: JV/Varsity Coach

Bio: This is Dave's 5th year with the Falcons. He is a Severna Park graduate and Baltimore County Teacher. Dave wrestled for Bloomsburg University and is a former coach at St. Mary's & Spaulding. He currently resides in Kent Island.

Name: Ben Schwalb

Position: Volunteer Coach

Bio: This is Coach Schwalb's 4th. year with the team. He hails from Newton MA where he wrestled at Newton South High School. He was elected team captain in his senior year and was regional champion in 1980. He then went on to wrestle at the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a Computer Science degree in 1984. He has since worked for the Department of Defense, earning a Masters Degree in Information Security along the way. He was assistant wrestling coach at Meade High School in the 1991-1992 and 1992-1993 seasons. In the off season he wrestles and coaches at the Navy Junior and Wildcat wrestling clubs. He is a Severna Park resident. His other hobbies include homebrewing and writing, and he has had two books published.

Name: Brian Cox

Position: Web Designer and Administrator

Bio: This is Brian's 7th year working with the team. Brian is a former wrestler for SPW. His greatest wrestling accomplishment was placing 2nd at the Damascus Tournament of 2004 durring his senior year. Brian is a college student currently attending Johns Hopkins University. He earned his AAS in 2006 in Information Systems Security at AACC. He plans to continue studying at Johns Hopkins and is on track to graduate in the spring of 2010.
